Who Will Cast The First Stone?
Look Into The Mirror
Before Condemning Others!
(M. Javed Naseem)
The Muslim millionaires should be ashamed of their lavish
lifestyle before offering lip-service to the poor. You cannot talk about the
problems of the homeless people while living in palaces and air-conditioned mansions
of several acres! Only hypocrites (Munaafiqeen) do that.
In this weird world, a poor man criticizes the rich and
accuses them of corruption, sometimes rightly so. Similarly, a rich man criticizes the richer opponents and
accuses them of corruption and wrong-doing. Why? Because they are competing
with each other for the lifestyles of the rich and famous. They don’t see around
them how the less fortunate and the poor are living. It’s not their problem! It's not piety to spend your own money on luxury living and spend other people's money on charity, and then show off to take credit. It is a violation of God's command. The Quran is full of Allah's commands: "Spend YOUR money!"
"And spend of YOUR substance in the cause of Allah, and
make not your own hands contribute to (your) destruction."
(al-Quran 2:195)
"Not those who spend of THEIR substance, to be seen of men,
but have no faith in Allah and the Last
Day: If any take the Evil
One for their intimate, what a dreadful
intimate he is!"
(al-Quran 4:38)
"Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and
spend out of what We have provided for them."
(al-Quran 2:3)
"... to spend of YOUR substance, out of love for Him... "
(al-Quran 2:177)

The graduates of
Catholic schools
don’t understand
what the Quran says.
But do they
understand what the Bible
says? If they don’t
know the teachings
of Muhammad
(s.a.w.), do they follow
the teachings of
Jesus? If they don’t,
they are just
bigots and hypocrites.

Here’s a reminder from the Bible!
Pericope de Adultera — is a famous passage found
in the Gospel of John 7:53 – 8:11. In this episode, after Jesus has sat down in
the temple to teach some of the people, after he spent the previous night at
the Mount of Olives, a group of scribes and
Pharisees confront Jesus, interrupting his teaching session. They bring in an
adulteress, and invite Jesus to pass judgment upon her: Should she be stoned,
as Moses taught, or not?
Jesus first ignores the interruption, and writes on the
ground as though he does not hear them. But after the religious leaders
continue their challenge, he states that the one who is without sin is the one
who should cast the first stone. The religious leaders depart, leaving Jesus
and the woman in the midst of the crowd.
Jesus then asks the woman if anyone has condemned her. When
she answers that no one has condemned her, Jesus says that he, too, does not
condemn her, and tells her to go and sin no more.
Ephesians 4:29
“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but
that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the
hearers.”
1-John 4:20
“If a man says, ‘I love God’,
and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he that loves not his brother whom he
has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?”
1-Peter 2:17
“Honor all (men)! Love the brotherhood! Fear God! Honor the
king!”
Hebrews 13:1
“Let brotherly love continue!”
And here’s what Allah has commanded us to do! The Quran
tells us:
“And hold fast, all
together, by the rope
which Allah
(stretches out for you), and
be not divided among
yourselves; and
remember with
gratitude Allah's favor on
you; for you were
enemies and He joined
your hearts in love,
so that by His Grace,
you became brethren;
and you were on the
brink of the pit of
Fire, and He saved you
from it. Thus does
Allah make His Signs
clear to you, that
you may be guided.”
(al-Quran 3:103)
“And those who came
after them say: Our
Lord! Forgive us, and
our brethren who
came before us into the
Faith, and leave not,
in our hearts, rancor
(or sense of injury)
against those who
have believed. Our Lord!
You are indeed Full
of Kindness, Most Merciful."
(al-Quran 59:10)
We can promote love and compassion; we can combat hate,
prejudice and division; we can thwart apartheid and bias; we can unite the
mankind by helping each other. The choice is ours!
Now, there is one question about the role of Muslim leaders
in this situation: What are they doing?
The answer is: Nothing, as usual. The Muslim countries are being
ruled by hypocrites (the ‘Munaafiqeen’) who neither follow the Quran nor the
teachings of the Prophet (s.a.w.). Because, if they did, they won’t be entitled
to the positions they hold today. They are just puppets.
We need direction and it comes through true guidance. And
the true guidance comes from the Quran. We should avoid jumping quickly to
Fatwahs (judgments). Just do your best to help others and let Allah be the True
Judge!
In the battle between the ‘good’ and the ‘evil’, it is the
‘good’ that is bound to succeed as the ‘evil’ is bound to lose – that is the
law of nature. But that does not mean that we should sit back, do nothing and
wait for the ‘good’ to overcome. We must do our part as per the Quranic
guidelines. Allah tells us that the dwellers of the Heaven will ask the
dwellers of the Hell about their plight. Here’s their answer:
“(They will be) in Gardens (of Delight);
“(They will be) in Gardens (of Delight);
they will question
each other, and (ask) of
the Sinners: "What
led you into Hellfire?"
They will say:
"We were not of those who
prayed; nor were we
of those who fed the
indigent. But we used
to talk vanities with
vain talkers; and we
used to deny the
Day of Judgment,
until there came to
us (the Hour) that is
certain."
(al-Quran 74:40-47)
So, disobedience to God (not praying, not thanking and not
glorifying His name; and not following His commands); not feeding the hungry;
not helping the poor/needy; and denying the Day of Judgment are the main causes
of our downfall. If we don’t change the course, we are Hell-bound.
