TRUTH SHALL ALWAYS PREVAIL - Unstoppable Tsunami of Islam, Part-2

The Unstoppable Tsunami
Of Islam
(Part 2 of 2)

(M. Javed Naseem)

(Europ's biggest mosque in Chechnya, Russia)
“The religion before Allah is Islam
(submission to His Will).”
(al-Quran 3:19)

“If anyone desires a religion other
than Islam (submission to Allah),
never will it be accepted of him;
and in the Hereafter he will be
in the ranks of those who have lost
(all spiritual good).”
(al-Quran 3:85)

“Do they seek for other than the
Religion of Allah? while all creatures
in the heavens and on earth have,
willing or unwilling, bowed to His Will
(accepted Islam), and to Him shall they
all be brought back.”
(al-Quran 3:83)

Muslims don’t hate non-Muslims the way some non-Muslims hate Muslims. There are some vested-interest groups and organizations that have some political, financial, social and cultural agenda. They are spending millions of dollars on their anti-Islam campaign by buying the media and trying to brainwash (with their anti-Muslim rhetoric, lies, deceptions, fabricated stories, and out of context Quranic references) those young and old non-Muslims who are not very well-informed or educated. They are trying to create an atmosphere of fear and phobia.

Muslim population growth rate is very nominal and absolutely
normal in multi-cultural societies like the American and the European. It has been blown out of proportions by the vested-interest groups and the biased (and corrupt) media. They have created  ‘Islamophobia’ out of it. They are constantly creating and solidifying an atmosphere of fear, anxiety and tension among different groups of society to pit one against the other. This will achieve two objectives:

  1. Curtail the civil liberties of people (at home) in the name of security and peace so that they can no more stand up to the corrupt governments and demand their rights or freedom.
  2. Finance the war industry in the face of imaginary enemy (Islam/Muslims) to achieve the hegemony of the world to plunder its wealth and mineral resources (more than 80% of oil & gas is found in the Muslim countries).

Luckily, there are people on both sides of the Atlantic who know the truth and who understand what’s going on. They are trying to spread the awareness too although at times it is very difficult to compete with the mainstream media.

Since the media has been trying for years now to spread the hatred, bias and subjectivity, there are still people who refuse to be fooled by them. They use their own brains, their own eyes and their own means of getting the information. And the law of nature is also on their side: You cannot hide the truth for ever! And the result is that people are continuously converting or reverting to Islam.

20,000 People convert to Islam in America, each year.

The Zionists manipulated and used 9/11 as a pretext to invade many Muslim countries. They inflicted tremendous damage but at the same time it back-fired. People in the West got more curious and started to learn about Islam. What they found out was shocking not only for them but also for those perpetrators who wanted to harvest the fruits of ‘negativity’, lies and deceptions. They were exposed.

“Truth shall set you free!” And people are freeing from the shackles of falsehood and deception. They are reverting to Islam, the religion of truth, peace and blessings.

Even in Russia, despite all odds and restrictions, Islam is flourishing and attracting more and more Russians. In Chechnya, they have constructed the largest mosque of Europe and Vladimir Putin was invited to visit it.

‘Europeans Increasingly Converting to Islam’
By Soeren Kern
January 27, 2012

Irish actor Liam Neeson says he is thinking about becoming a Muslim after undergoing a spiritual awakening in Turkey.
Neeson, who was born into a Roman Catholic family in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, told the London-based newspaper The Sun that he was impressed by the religious atmosphere in Istanbul while filming a movie in the city.
He said: "The [Islamic] call to prayer happens five times a day, and for the first week, it drives you crazy, and then it just gets into your spirit, and it's the most beautiful, beautiful thing. There are 4,000 mosques in the city. Some are just stunning, and it really makes me think about becoming a Muslim."
Neeson is just one of hundreds of thousands of Europeans who are trading their Christian heritage for the supposed exoticism of Islam. The surge in conversions is contributing to the mainstreaming of Islam in Europe and contributing to the Islamization of the continent.
In Britain, the number of Muslim converts recently passed the 100,000 mark, according to a survey conducted by an inter-faith group called Faith Matters. The survey revealed that nearly two thirds of the converts were women, more than 70% were white and the average age at conversion was just 27.
The survey, conducted by Kevin Brice from Swansea University in Wales, asked converts for their views on the negative aspects of British culture. They identified alcohol and drunkenness, a "lack of morality and sexual permissiveness" and "unrestrained consumerism."
More than one in four acknowledged there was a "natural conflict" between being a devout Muslim and living in Britain. Nine out of ten women converts said their change of religion had led to them dressing more conservatively. More than half started wearing a head scarf and 5% had worn the burka.
Separately, government authorities revealed that an increasing number of inmates at British prisons are converting to Islam. For example, one-third of the inmates at one of Britain's most notorious youth jails are Muslims and the religion is attracting a large number of converts.
There are 229 Muslims out of a total of 686 youngsters detained at Feltham Young Offenders' Institution in West London, according to Ministry of Justice figures. There are now so many worshippers at Friday prayers that they have to be split between Feltham's mosque and its gym.
Prison insiders say most non-Muslims are locked up during Friday prayers because so many guards are needed to monitor the lunchtime service. As a consequence, many disillusioned youngsters are becoming attracted to Islam by the prospect of getting better food and superior treatment at the prison.
One of the more prominent Britons to convert to Islam is Lauren Booth, sister-in-law of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Booth, who converted after feeling a "shot of spiritual morphine" on a trip to Iran, now wears a ‘hijab’ head covering whenever she leaves her home and prays five times a day.

with their mouths, but Allah will not allow
but that His light should be perfected, even
though the Unbelievers may detest (it).”
(al-Quran 9:32)

France Has The Largest Muslim Population:
In France, an estimated 70,000 French citizens have converted to Islam in recent years, according to a report by France 3 public television. As in Britain, the majority of converts to Islam in France are young women who say they are disenchanted with materialism.

Europe: Conversions to Islam are also rife in Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal and Spain.

In Italy, Ambassador Alfredo Maiolese, an Italian MP, recently became a Muslim and now dedicates his time trying to improving the image of Islam in the West.

In Sweden, there are now at least 5,000 converts to Islam.
In Germany, at least 20,000 people have converted to Islam in recent years, according to a report by RTL television.

Many European coverts to Islam in fact become vastly more pious than Muslims who were born into Islam. Such converts, taking an absolutist approach, are often easily led into extremism too.

Also in SwitzerlandDaniel Streich, a former member of the Swiss People's Party (SVP), which campaigned against the construction of minarets for mosques, converted to Islam. He now says Switzerland needs more mosques.

In Spain, at least 50,000 native Spaniards have converted to Islam in recent years, many of them women., a Spanish-language website devoted to propagating Islam in Spain, recently published an article that encourages Spanish women to wed Muslim men. The article describes marriage to a Muslim this way: "Multiculturalism is a rewarding experience for all concerned."

Islam In Cordoba And Grenada (Spain):

Muslim Population In Europe
5 Facts

By Conrad Hackett

Recent violence in France and protest marches in Germany have drawn renewed attention to Europe’s Muslim population. In many European countries, including Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, concerns about growing Muslim communities have led to calls for restrictions on immigration. But just how large is Europe’s Muslim population, and how fast is it growing?

Using the Pew Research Center’s most recent population estimates, here are five facts about the size and makeup of the Muslim population in Europe:

1: Germany and France have the largest Muslim populations among European Union member countries. As of 2010, there were 4.8 million Muslims in Germany (5.8% of the country’s population) and 4.7 million Muslims in France (7.5%). In Europe overall, however, Russia’s population of 14 million Muslims (10%) is the largest on the continent.

2: The Muslim share of Europe’s total population has been increasing steadily. In recent decades, the Muslim share of the population throughout Europe grew about 1 percentage point a decade, from 4% in 1990 to 6% in 2010. This pattern is expected to continue through 2030, when Muslims are projected to make up 8% of Europe’s population.

3: Muslims are younger than other Europeans. In 2010, the median age of Muslims throughout Europe was 32, eight years younger than the median for all Europeans (40). By contrast, the median age of religiously unaffiliated people in Europe, including atheists, agnostics and those with no religion in particular, was 37. The median age of European Christians was 42.

4: Views of Muslims vary widely among European countries. A Pew Research survey conducted last spring found that majorities in France Britain and Germany had favorable views of Muslims. Opinion was roughly divided in Spain while negative views prevailed in Italy, Greece and Poland. Views about Muslims are tied to ideology. While 47% of Germans on the political right give Muslims an unfavorable rating, just 20% on the left do so. The gap between left and right is also more than 20 percentage points in France, Italy and Greece. And significant differences are found in Spain and the UK as well.

5: As of 2010, the European Union was home to about 13 million Muslim immigrants. The foreign-born Muslim population in Germany is primarily made up of Turkish immigrants, but also includes many born in Kosovo, Iraq, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Morocco. The roughly 3 million foreign-born Muslims in France are largely from France’s former colonies of Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.
(Conrad Hackett is a Demographer at the Pew Research Center’s Religion & Public Life Project.)

Pew Research Center adds:

“At least half of those surveyed in Italy, Greece and Poland say they have a negative opinion of the Muslims who live in their country. Public opinion is divided on this question in Spain, while in Germany and the UK a majority says they have positive views of Muslims.”
“The most favorable ratings are registered in France (72% favorable), which among the seven nations surveyed has the highest percentage of Muslims in the national population.”

The Unstoppable Tsunami
Of Islam
(Part I of II)
(M. Javed Naseem)

O Evil-doers! You are scared.
Stop killing innocent people as
you cannot stop the Truth from
spreading all over the world!
You are not stronger or bigger
than the Pharaoh or Nimrod!
You’ll be swept away one day!

They are scared; they are worried; they are afraid to lose faith; and most of all, they have the fear of
losing the ground beneath their feet. They are scared to death that their great empire of faith erected
on shaky ground, supported by the huge pillars of lies and covered by the fragile roof of the dome of
deceptions is soon going to crumble. The fake faith is going to shatter by the hammer of Divine Truth.
When the light comes (and this is the Divine Light of Guidance), the darkness disappears; dissolves in
the air and perishes. Truth is going to stay and the Falsehood is bound to perish! That’s the promise of
the Lord, the Supreme Creator – Allah.

“And say: Truth has (now) arrived, and
Falsehood perished; for Falsehood is
(by its nature) bound to perish."
(al-Quran 17:81)

How many countries are you going to invade and destroy? Go, invade any Muslim country, many Muslim countries, or even all Muslim countries, the Guiding Light cannot be extinguished – not by humans! And that’s another promise of the Lord, the Supreme Creator – Allah.

“Fain would they extinguish Allah's light
with their mouths, but Allah will not allow
but that His light should be perfected, even
though the Unbelievers may detest (it).”
(al-Quran 9:32)

“Their intention is to extinguish Allah's
Light (by blowing) with their mouths.
But Allah will complete (the revelation
of) His Light, even though the
Unbelievers may detest (it).”
(al-Quran 61:8)

Islam is the ‘Deen’ (system of life) created and prescribed by the Creator for the entire mankind. No human
can stop it from spreading. They have always been trying to defame it, deface it and malign it but in vain. The entire media of the West, using all its sources, resources and influence, lies and false accusations, fake videos
and fabricated stories, could not tarnish Islam. They’ll never stop and neither shall Islam. It will spring up from within. Remember! The Moses was brought up in the royal palace under the nose of the Pharaoh, who tried
to get rid of him by killing thousands of male children of Egypt.

The crooks plan with all their vicious designs. But the One Who is All-Knowing, has His own plan. And He
is the Best of Planners! And that’s His promise too!

“And (the unbelievers) plotted and
planned, and Allah too planned, and
the best of planners is Allah.
(Quote: 3:54)

“Remember how the Unbelievers plotted
against you, to keep you in bonds, or slay
you, or get you out (of your home). They
plot and plan, and Allah too plans;
but the best of planners is Allah.”
(al-Quran 8:30)

From: The ‘Hidden Islam’
by Nicolo Degiorgis

In Italy, Islam remains hidden. Despite being home to more than a million Muslims, Italy has put stringent limits on the number of government-approved mosques available to worshippers: in fact, there are just seven in the entire country, in Rome, Florence, Palermo, Turin, Ravenna, Milan and Genoa.
In lieu of mosques, Italy’s Muslims have been forced to transform warehouses, parking lots, stadiums and supermarkets into places of prayer.

In ‘Hidden Islam’, a self-published monograph featuring pictures he made between 2009 to 2013, photographer Nicoló Degiorgis, 29, documents these improvised houses of worship.
“Hidden Islam draws a frightening picture of contemporary Italy — a country [with a limited] colonial background that finds it hard to absorb a quickly rising wave of immigration,” Degiorgis recently told Light-Box. “The book is an attempt at showing a sense of Islamophobia spreading across many Western countries.”
(Courtesy: )

As per ‘Wikipedia’:

Islam is the second-most widely practiced religion in Italy behind Roman Catholicism, professed by an estimated 2% of the population according to 2011 estimates. Muslim presence in
Italy dates back to the 9th century, when Sicily came under control of the Abbasid Caliphate. There was large Muslim presence in Italy from 827 (the first occupation of Mazara) until 1300 (the destruction of the last Muslim settlement of Lucera). Thereafter, until the 20th century, Islam was relatively small in Italy.

During the 20th century, the first Somali immigrants from Italian Somaliland began to arrive. In more recent years, there has been migration from Albania, Morocco, Egypt, and Tunisia.’ adds:

About 600,000 Muslims live in Italy legally but it is hard to estimate the large numbers of illegal aliens. Most of these Muslims come from countries in the 10/40 Window, particularly Tunisia, Libya and Albania. Many speak the Italian language well, attending schools and working in factories throughout the country though a larger number live in Northern Italy.
There are over 100 mosques in Italy, 65 of which are in the North.
(Editor’s note: Those are not regular mosques recognized by the government. They are arranged ‘prayer-places’ located in the warehouses, depots, garages, basements, supermarkets, etc. Permission is not granted for new mosques. Italy is violating EU agenda of secularism. They put cross and figures of Jesus & Mary in every classroom, in every school, in every office and in every govt. building).

Many Muslims who originally migrated to Italy are now successfully bringing their families to Italy while others are marrying Italian women. In Italian schools, the majority of non-catholic students are Muslim. Cultural misunderstandings and differences between Muslims and Italians are increasingly leading to social tensions.

Italy has a diversified industrial economy with roughly the same total and per capita output as France and the UK. This capitalistic economy remains divided into a developed industrial north, dominated by private companies, and a less-developed, welfare-dependent, agricultural south, with 20% unemployment. Most raw materials needed by industry and more than 75% of energy requirements are imported.

Dr. Alfredo Maiolese, Italian Minister,
Converted to Islam:

(Interviews broadcast on IQRA-TV of the Middle East)

Transcription by: ‘ashkarlovesALLAH’, Yemen.
(The guest spoke Italian and Arabic during his interviews.)

Minister: I want to say a very important thing:
When I became a Muslim, I said to myself I should do something to introduce Islam in Italy as I’m Italian (because all of them are anti-Islam). But I have to take a position and a rank in order to strengthen what I say. I prayed to Allah (SWT) to grant me this position because Allah (SWT) ordained these international meetings where there were Prime Ministers, ministers, and diplomats. So I made a contribution as an Italian Muslim.
Since I’m very proud to be a Muslim, I don’t disguise or hide this.
And I want to carry this message and convey it to others,
for everyone to understand that anyone can deliver this message.
During these meeting I, talked about the relations that should be between Muslims and Christians.
And the Minister of Parliament for International Security and Peace asked me to come later and told me that all of them talked but you are the one who entered my heart because of what you said aiming to unite people.
So I supplicated to Allah (SWT) that this international parliament for peace would be accessible to me. That was not easy.
And after the supplication to Allah (SWT), …
Interviewer: Ma Shaa Allah, You always supplicate with ‘Yaqeen’.
Minister: Yes. So, they chose me as a minister and ambassador.
So I said to myself I must make use of my position for the interest of Islam.
Interviewer: And that statement when the Pope said that Islam was spread by force which was misinterpreted?
Minister: Yes, I called Rome to someone who is close to the Pope’s secretary and told him if a Muslim in the street or a Christian in the street makes such a statement, there’s no problem. But if a Mufti from KSA, Kuwait, or Egypt or from any other country makes this statement, or the Pope who represents the international Christianity, rather than spreading the peace, it will create war, breakup and hatred. And we are not here to spread hatred.
Many of our Christian friends, they are our brothers, because they are descendents of Adam. We must be, at this moment, united.
Then the Pope, after 20 days of this call, invited the Muslim ambassadors from Kuwait, Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco and from all countries. I am very happy --- speaks in Arabic).
Interviewer: Happy of that invitation?
Minister: Yes, very happy about this. I wanted that KSA will have good relations with Rome. I am, as you see, very attached to KSA, as if I was reborn in the KSA.
Interviewer: Because you became a Muslim in KSA?
Minister: Yes.
Interviewer: Dr. Alfredo, you said that you were touched when you first heard the Adhan, and you regret that you don’t hear it in Europe.
Minister: [In Arabic} The first time I was in KSA and at that time I was not a Muslim, I heard the Adhan, Subhan-Allah, even though I was not a Muslim, there was a light in it.
Interviewer: There was an effect!
Minister: Subhan-Allah! After becoming Muslim, I am very delighted. In Italy there is no mosque, there’s no Adhan, and every time I travel to an Arabic or Muslim country I hear Hayya al-as Salat … (come to prayer, come to success) this is a word that Allah says. Insha-Allah if we follow the path of the Prophet (PBUH) we will take our way to Paradise.
And I hope all Muslims (and Musilmahs) will be in Paradise, In Shaa Allah.
Interviewer: How many times did you go to Makkah or for Hajj?
Minister: Before embracing Islam, I went everywhere, and now time is precious, Insha-Allah, I’ll go everywhere to the end of the world and Insha-Allah there will be time for Dawah to Allah.
I’ll go to Tunisia, Morocco, Syria, Egypt, Turkey; all of it to be a call for Allah, Pakistan, India, UAE, and Bahrain.
Subhan-Allah, I went to Umrah 10 times, and Hajj twice - once with my wife and the other time alone, with Kuwaiti people.
I am very happy during month of Ramadan, Subhan-Allah. In Italy you don’t feel the spirit during Ramadan, the blessed month, I love to pray Taraweeh, Tahajjud in the Kaabah and drink Zamzam water.
Interviewer: Thank you, Mr. Minister. Now quickly, what message do you have for Muslims? What do you expect from Muslims?
Minister: I ask Muslims, Insha-Allah, I wish to give the People of the Book and to mankind a good image of Muslims. After Muhammad (PBUH) there’s no Prophet. We are the ambassadors of Islam, We Insha-Allah give good image, call for Allah.
My thoughts are not the thoughts of fighting, but my thoughts are like those of Muhammad (PBUH) that Islam will be everywhere around the world. That’s what I think of.
Interviewer: We Ask Allah (SWT) to fulfill your wishes and we would be the models and the ambassadors of Islam, giving its shining image as a religion; and make use of these faithful experiences. And Peace be unto you!

SALAAT IS EASY, Don't Make It Difficult!

Salaat (‘Namaz’ or Prayer)
An Obligation Without Exemption

Salaat Is Easy,
Don’t Make It Difficult!

(M. Javed Naseem)

"Verily, I am Allah! There is no god but I.
So serve Me (only), and establish regular
prayer for celebrating My praise!”
(al-Quran 20:14)

Salaat (prayer or ‘Namaz’) is a source of direct relationship, a direct link or a direct conversation with Allah, the Almighty. There’s no better option or situation of One-on-One talk with our Almighty Creator than Salaat. And Salaat is also one of the five pillars of Islam. According to one Hadith, Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) said that while offering Salaat, one whispers with Allah. There cannot be a better definition of prayer!

“Guard strictly your (habit of) prayers,
especially the middle prayer; and stand
before Allah in a devout (frame of mind).”
(al-Quran 2:238)

“When you pass (congregational) prayers,
celebrate Allah's praises, standing, sitting down,
or lying down on your sides; but when you are
free from danger, set up regular prayers, for such
prayers are enjoined on believers at stated times.”
(al-Quran 4:103)

“And establish regular prayers at the two ends
of the day and at the approaches of the night!”
(al-Quran 11:114)

There are hundreds of verses in the Quran wherein Allah has not only commanded us to offer and maintain regularity of prayers (Salaat), but He has also reiterated the great importance of Salaat (prayer) in our lives. It protects us from evil-doing.

“Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration
to you, and establish regular prayer; for prayer
restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and
remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in
life) without doubt. And Allah knows the
(deeds) that you do.”
(al-Quran 29:45)

“Establish worship at the going down of the sun
until the dark of night, and (the recital of) the
Quran at dawn. Lo! (The recital of) the Quran
at dawn is ever witnessed.”
“And pray in the small watches of the morning;
(it would be) an additional prayer (or spiritual
profit) for you. Soon will your Lord raise you
to a Station of Praise and Glory!
(al-Quran 17:78-79)

Salaat (prayer) is compulsory for all believers. We Muslims were commanded to offer Salaat (as an obligation) at least five times a day. You may pray as much as you can and you’ll get the reward for that. There is no limit on the ‘maximum’ but there’s definitely a limit on the ‘minimum’ for every day. That limit has been prescribed in units that are called ‘Rakaats’ in Arabic. There are five daily prayers and each prayer has a certain number of Rakaats which are obligatory (Fardh or Farz).

You can add to that number, any amount of optional (Nafl) Rakaats to get some extra or additional rewards in the Hereafter. Salaat is one of the biggest means of working on our Hereafter, to avoid Hellfire and to gain Paradise.

The ignorant Mullah tells people that
there are 12 Rakaats for Dhuhr (Zuhr),
and 17 Rakaats for Isha prayer. Wrong!
There are only 4 obligatory (Fardh/Farz)
Rakaats each to Dhuhr/Zuhr and Isha.
The rest is ‘Nawafil’ (optional) prayers.
A long Salaat of 17 Rakaats is good enough to discourage even the staunch Muslim. It’s hard to perform that on daily basis for a long time. According to Indian & Pakistani Mullahs, you have to perform 48 Rakaats of prayer every day (in 24 hours). He breaks it down like this:

Fajr: 4 Rakaats
Dhuhr/Zuhr: 12 Rakaats
Asr: 8 Rakaats
Maghrib: 7 Rakaats
Isha: 17 Rakaats
TOTAL (in 24 hours): 48 Rakaats

But that’s not right. In reality, Allah has prescribed only 17 Rakaats (in 24 hours) for His servants (Muslims) and He’ll question us about that. Here’s the break down:

Fajr: 2 Rakaats
Dhuhr/Zuhr: 4 Rakaats
Asr: 4 Rakaats
Maghrib: 3 Rakaats
Isha: 4 Rakaats
TOTAL (in 24 hours): 17 Rakaats

Let me tell you why Indo-Pak scholars added so many Rakaats to the original Fardh/Farz (obligatory) Rakaats. They copy the pattern from the Prophet (s.a.w.) who used to offer extra (Nafl or Nawafil) prayers every day. But Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) told his companions and disciples what was obligatory (Fardh or Farz) prayer and what was optional (Nafl or Nawafil).

On the other hands, the Mullahs don’t tell people that Dhuhr and Isha have only four Rakaats each of obligatory prayer. The rest is considered Nafl (optional) prayers and it is offered only to get extra or additional reward for the Hereafter. If you perform that, you will be rewarded but if you don’t, there’s no punishment for that. The obligatory prayer you MUST perform because there’s a punishment for not doing that.

Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) offered 12 optional Rakaats every day in addition to the obligatory (Fardh/Farz) prayer. Sometimes, he offered more. But all scholars agree that he offered these 12 Rakaats of Nawafil regularly, without fail. These 12 Rakaats are called ‘Sunnah-tal-Muakkidah’. He never missed them. There are other Nawafil he performed also but not regularly. Those Nawafil (or Rakaats) are called ‘Sunnah-tal-Ghair-Muakkidah’. Here’s the detail of ‘Muakkidah’ Rakaats:

Fajr: 2 Rakaats (before the Fardh/Farz Rakaats).
Dhuhr/Zuhr: 6 Rakaats. (Four before the Fardh/Farz Rakaats, and two after).
Asr: None.
Maghrib: 2 Rakaats (after the Fardh/Farz Rakaats).
Isha: 2 Rakaats (after the Fardh/Farz Rakaats).

In addition to that, the Prophet (s.a.w.) never missed 3 Rakaats of Witr prayer to close the night. He performed the Witr sometimes at the end of Isha prayer; sometimes before going to bed/before sleeping; and sometimes before dawn after Tahajjud prayer.

Now, why are there extra or additional Rakaats of prayer? The idea behind it was that since man was not perfect, he’s full of flaws, he won’t be able to perform his Salaat with 100% concentration and attention  (‘Khushooa’ and  ‘Khudhooa’). Therefore, there is a chance that his Salaat may not be accepted. To compensate this deficiency, they added more Rakaats (Nawafil) to the original obligatory (Fardh/Farz) Rakaats, so that even if we lose some of our prayers for being ‘imperfect’ or ‘not good enough’, we still get the reward for extra or additional Rakaats of Nawafil. A good thinking indeed! But they need to tell people that those extra Rakaats are not compulsory; they are optional.

Salaat is the best way to pay gratitude to Allah, to remember Him, and to glorify His name every day.

“Therefore, be patient with what they say,
and celebrate (constantly) the praises of your
Lord, before the rising of the sun, and before
its setting. Yea, celebrate them for part of the
hours of the night, and at the sides of the day;
that you may have (spiritual) joy.”
(al-Quran 20.130)

“Enjoin prayer on your people,
and be constant therein.”
(al-Quran 20:132)

If you perform extra or additional Rakaats, you’ll get extra reward from The Almighty. It’s simple as that! But they don’t explain this to the common man who is very much discouraged by the big number of Rakaats in prayers and gets lazy, irregular, careless and distracted. The result is that he eventually loses the prayer (Salaat) altogether. He feels that Salaat is a big burden, a heavy load, a headache or a break-down in his daily life that does not allow him any entertainment. That’s not true!

What a common man needs to be told is that only the obligatory (Fardh/Farz) Rakaats are a ‘MUST’. The rest is like your saving bank account – the more you put into it, the better for you in the end.

We should try to encourage our children, youngsters and even the adults to perform the minimum of Salaat – the obligatory (Fardh/Farz) prayer, five times a day, regularly. Start with Fardh/Farz prayers first. When they get used to it, then they can slowly and gradually add extra Rakaats to it (like Sunnah, Nafl, etc.).

The Deen (religion) of Allah is simple and easy. It’s very practical in every time and place. Allah has assured us in the Quran that He does not want any difficulty for us. People only need education and guidance – and that can come only from the educated people who have the knowledge of the Quran.

As per one Hadith, somebody asked the Prophet (s.a.w.):
What was the deed liked most by Allah?
The Prophet (s.a.w.) answered: Any good deed, no matter how small, if it was done regularly.

So, what’s the message here? Regularity or steadfastness! Don’t give up! There’s a beautiful term to define that: The patient perseverance.

“And be steadfast in prayer; practice regular
charity; and bow down your heads with those
who bow down (in worship).”
(al-Quran 2:43)

“And seek (Allah's) help with patient
perseverance and prayer!”
(al-Quran 2:45)

When Prophet Abraham (a.s.) laid the foundation of the Holy Kaabah along with his eldest son Ishmael (a.s.), he prayed to Allah through many supplications. One of such supplications (Dua) was this:

رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْنِى مُقِيمَ ٱلصَّلاَةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَتِى رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَآءِ
“O my Lord! Make me one who establishes
regular prayer, and also (raise such) among my
offspring O our Lord! And accept  my prayer.”
(al-Quran 14:40)

That shows how important prayer was for Prophet Abraham (a.s.) and his children. Abraham (a.s.) was a staunch Muslim; an upright man; an obedient servant of Allah and a faithful slave of his Creator. From among many of his generations, Allah chose the Prophets or the Messengers. But there were others too who did not care much about the prayers and they went astray:

فَخَلَفَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُواْ ٱلصَّلاَةَ
وَٱتَّبَعُواْ ٱلشَّهَوَاتِ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيّاً
“But after them, there followed a generation
who neglected prayers and followed lusts.
But soon they will meet perdition.”
(al-Quran 19:59)

For the Muslim community, Friday is the best day of the week as it’s full of blessings. Allah, as a special act of mercy, has given us concession in Dhuhr (Zuhr) prayer on Friday, by reducing it to 2 Rakaats, but adding sermon (Khutbah) to it which is also obligatory. Remember! This concession is only for offering prayer in congregation in a mosque, not at home.

“O you who believe! When the call is proclaimed
to prayer on Friday (the Day of Assembly), hasten
earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah, and leave
off business (and traffic). That is best for you
if you but knew!”
“And when the Prayer is finished, then may you
disperse through the land, and seek of the Bounty
of Allah; and celebrate the Praises of Allah often
(and without stint), that you may prosper.”
(al-Quran 62:9-10)

Prayer (Salaat) is easy but it should not be taken lightly. It has great importance both from spiritual as well as physical-moral point of views. Some scholars even go that far to say that the only difference between a ‘Kafir’ (unbeliever) and a Muslim is that of Salaat (prayer). My aim here is not to deliver or promote any Fatwah about those who are not regular or careful about their prayers. We are all humans, full of faults, sins, carelessness and imperfections. On the other hand, Allah is the Most Merciful, Most Forgiving! Our duty is to try to deliver and leave the rest to Allah. He’ll do whatever is best for us in this world and in the Hereafter. We should always remember that Allah has commanded to offer regular prayers and He does not like the neglectful.

“So woe to the worshippers,
who are neglectful of their prayers.”
(al-Quran 107:4-5)

“And (ask) of the Sinners: What led you
into Hell Fire?" They will say: "We were
not of those who prayed.”
(al-Quran 74:41-43)

So, in other words, if we don’t pray, we’ll find our place in Hellfire. And that verse alone says volumes about the importance of Salaat (prayer).
