TEACHINGS OF JESUS CHRIST

Value The Message, Not The Birthday!

Jesus Said:
“God Is A Spirit …
Worship Him In Spirit And Truth!”

Teachings of Jesus Christ
(Excerpts from the book “God’s Prescription – al-Quran”

(By: M. Javed Naseem)

“Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only!”
                                                      -- Jesus Christ

“Everything that may hinder you from serving God,
cast it from you as man casts away
everything that hinders his sight!”
                                                                                           -- Jesus Christ

It is December, the Christmas season or the ‘Christmas fever’ time. The irony is that in the Christian world of today, most people don’t care about the teachings of Jesus Christ and the message of God that Jesus brought to the mankind. All attention is focused on Christmas or 25th December celebrations, although it has nothing to do with the birth of Jesus. And most Christians know that well too.

“We find Christianity tending to absorb Greek
philosophical values, until by the end of the third
century the line between the beliefs of educated
Christian and educated pagan in the east
would often be hard to draw.”
(From “The Rise of Christianity”, 1985, By: W.H.C. Frend)

The Quran talks about those who deliberately altered or edited the Scriptures and added or deleted the contents according to their own desires and convenience:

قُلْ يَـۤأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَابِ لاَ تَغْلُواْ فِى دِينِكُمْ غَيْرَ ٱلْحَقِّ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعُوۤاْ
أَهْوَآءَ قَوْمٍ قَدْ ضَلُّواْ مِن قَبْلُ وَأَضَلُّواْ كَثِيراً وَضَلُّواْ عَن سَوَآءِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ
“Say: O people of the Scripture! Stress not in your
religion other than the truth, and follow not the
vain desires of folk who erred of old, and led
many astray; and erred from the straight path.”
(al-Quran 5:77)

The ‘special-interest’ groups and the Zionists have turned the birth of Jesus into a money-making ‘business’ affair. Christmas has become a billion-Dollar industry today. During this entire month, Christians do everything that was forbidden by Jesus Christ; everything against his teachings and everything to cover up the truth about Jesus. Christmas, these days, is all about shopping and having good time. Bible’s foundation – the Ten Commandments – promoted by Moses and Jesus, are being violated everyday. Even the preachers are involved in corruption and scandals. They don’t care about God’s warnings of punishment.

(A Houston pastor (dark glasses) is under fire for asking his congregation to tithe $50,000 so that he can purchase replacement blades for the "church's helicopter")
Preachers are acting like politicians – living by lies, deception and cover-ups. When they are caught, they cry to win public sympathy. Until then, they have no sympathy for those people whom they abuse physically, financially and socially.

Bishop I.V. Hilliard of Houston’s New Light Church asked believers to cough up $50,000 to change the blades of his helicopter (“Church’s Helicopter”). And he was not the only one in hot water over asking his flock for cash for, what many believe to be, frivolous expenditures wrongly purchased in the name of God.
(Courtesy: www.PimpPreacher.com, New Orleans Bureau, 06/08/2013)

After Bishop Hilliard was put on blast, the website 'Pimp Preacher' received a copy of a newsletter sent out by Dr. Mark T. Barclay of Michigan’s Living Word Church asking his congregation to fork over $79,000 to repaint “the church’s” Cessna Citation III 650, a jet plane purchased in 2012.
In the newsletter, Dr. Barclay makes an appeal to his parishioners, claiming the luxury jet as “belonging to God.” However, unlike Bishop Hilliard, Dr. Barclay did not promise any blessings in return.

Fooling other people and living off their money is sinful in any religion. It is immoral and unethical. Abusing people in the name of God is not allowed. God also warned humanity against sinful living, in the Quran:

وَلاَ تَعَاوَنُواْ عَلَى ٱلإِثْمِ وَٱلْعُدْوَانِ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ آلْعِقَابِ
Help not one another unto sin and transgression, but keep
your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is severe in punishment.”
(al-Quran 5:2)

Many so-called religious scholars and preachers of today are corrupt. They use religion to make money. They live for material benefits and use other people’s money to their advantage. They are wicked, and they misguide innocent and ignorant people.

‘And lo! There is a party of them who
distort the Scripture with their tongues,
that ye may think that what they say is
from the Scripture, when it is not from
the Scripture. And they say: It is from
Allah, when it is not from Allah; and they
speak a lie concerning Allah knowingly.
(Quran 3:78)

God prescribed the same rules of conduct for mankind in every era because we were created as one nation of believers. Corruption, evil-doing and spreading mischief in the earth is strictly prohibited, and is punishable with Hellfire.
“Wrong not mankind in their goods, and
Do not evil, making mischief in the earth.”
(al-Quran 26:183)

“The curse of Allah is on evil-doers.”
(al-Quran 7:44)

When they are having good time at others’ expense, they don’t remember Moses, Jesus or Muhammad (s.a.w.). But God is gracious and still gives them a chance to repent and change their ways.

Turn to your Lord (in repentance) and bow to
His Will (in Islam), before the Penalty comes on
you; after that you shall not be helped.”
(al-Quran 39:54)

Prophets Moses and Jesus both followed the religion of Abraham who delivered the universal message of God to the mankind. And none of them engaged himself in birthday parties or festivals. They all guided mankind to the right path. But it’s not the case with the modern day preachers.

“They say: Become Jews or Christians if you would be
guided (to salvation). Say: Nay, (I would rather) the religion
of Abraham the true, and he joined not gods with Allah.”
(al-Quran 2:135)

And what religion did Abraham follow? During his time, Judaism and Christianity did not even exist. The Torah and the Gospel were given to Moses and Jesus, respectively, hundreds of years later. Here’s what Allah says in the Holy Quran:
مَا كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَهُودِيّاً وَلاَ نَصْرَانِيّاً وَلـٰكِنْ
كَانَ حَنِيفاً مُّسْلِماً وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
‘No; Abraham in truth was not a Jew,
neither a Christian; but he was a Muslim
and one pure of faith; certainly he was
never of the idolaters.’
(Quran 3:67)

Islam was the religion of all prophets. God prescribed only one religion for the mankind and all prophets or messengers conveyed and practiced the same religion. Therefore, in truth we are all ‘one nation’ of believers.

Let’s talk about Jesus now! Jesus and his disciples were Muslims. At that time, in that region of Palestine (Jordan-Syria), they were called “Mowahideen” – the worshippers of One God. In Quranic Arabic, it is called ‘Muslimeen’ or ‘Muslimoun’. The proof is given in the Hebrew Bible and the Holy Quran. In the following verse of the Quran, Jesus is talking to his disciples. In Surah (chapter) Aal-e-Imran, it is said:

فَلَمَّآ أَحَسَّ عِيسَىٰ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْكُفْرَ قَالَ مَنْ أَنصَارِىۤ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ
قَالَ ٱلْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنْصَارُ ٱللَّهِ آمَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَٱشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ
“When Jesus found unbelief on their part he said: ‘Who
will be my helpers to (the work of) Allah?’ Said the
disciples: ‘We are Allah’s helpers. We believe in Allah
and do you bear witness that we are Muslims.”
(al-Quran 3:52)

Now, a quote from the Gospel of Barnabas. Here is Jesus talking about Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.). Generally he refers to him as ‘Messenger of God’:

“I therefore say unto you that the Messenger of God is a splendor that shall give gladness to nearly all that God hath made, for he is adorned with the spirit of understanding and of counsel, the spirit of wisdom and might, the spirit of fear and love, the spirit of prudence and temperance, he is adorned with the spirit of charity and mercy, the spirit of justice and piety, the spirit of gentleness and patience, which he hath received from God three times more than he hath given to all his creatures. O blessed time, when he shall come to the world! Believe me that I have seen him and have done him reverence, even as every prophet hath seen him; seeing that of his sprit God giveth to them prophecy. And when I saw him my soul was filled with consolation, saying: ‘O Muhammad, God be with thee, and may he make me worthy to untie thy shoe-latchet, for obtaining this I shall be a great prophet and holy one of God.’ And having said this, Jesus rendered his thanks to God.”
(Gospel of Barnabas, Ch. 44)

And here is a verse from the Holy Quran that speaks about Jesus talking about the final Messenger of God, Ahmed (the second name of Muhammad, s.a.w.):

“And remember Jesus, the son of Mary, said: “O children
of Israel! I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you,
confirming the Law (which came) before me, and giving
glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name
shall be Ahmed. But when he came to them with clear
signs, they said, “this is evident sorcery!”
(al-Quran 61:6)

The Christian/Greek translators have translated the name of ‘Ahmed’ as ‘the praised one’ thus removing the reference made to Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.).

Allah, the Almighty, talks about Jesus and his disciples in the Holy Quran and confirms that they were all Muslims. Here is Verse 111 from Chapter 5:

وَإِذْ أَوْحَيْتُ إِلَى ٱلْحَوَارِيِّينَ أَنْ آمِنُواْ بِى وَبِرَسُولِى قَالُوۤاْ آمَنَّا وَٱشْهَدْ بِأَنَّنَا مُسْلِمُونَ
“And behold! I inspired the disciples to have faith in Me
and Mine Messenger. They said: We have faith, and do
you bear witness that we bow to Allah as Muslims.”
(al-Quran 5:111)

Now, let’s get acquainted with the thoughts and teachings of Prophet Jesus, the son of Mary, whose birth was a miracle in itself (and that miracle did not happen on 25th of December, mind it!).

Jesus says: “God is a spirit; and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth” – (John 4:24). And the Bible says God will not accept worship when people take a pagan custom or manner of worship and try to honor Jesus with it.

Jesus quoted Esaias prophesy: “In vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” (Matthew 15:9). Jesus said further, “full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition”.

This is precisely what the millions of people are doing today. They ignore the commandments of God and follow pagan customs. According to Herbert Armstrong, “We have professed to be Christian nations, but we’re in Babylon, as Bible prophecy foretold, and we don’t know it”.
“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues” – now soon to fall – is the warning of Revelation 18:4.

FROM THE GOSPEL OF BARNABAS:

World vs Hereafter:

“No man can in any wise serve two masters that are at enmity one with the other; for if the one shall love you, the other will hate you. Even so I tell you in truth that ye cannot serve God and the world for the world lies in falsehood, covetousness, and malignity. Ye cannot therefore find rest in the world, but rather persecution and loss. Wherefore serve God and despise the world, for from me ye shall find rest for your souls. Hear my words for I speak unto you in truth.” – Jesus Christ.

Offence:

“If your eye be an offence to you, pluck it out. For it is better that you go with one eye only into paradise than with both of them into hell.”
“If your hand or your foot offend you, do likewise; for it is better that you go into the kingdom of heaven with one foot or with one hand, than with two hands and two feet go into hell.” – Jesus Christ.

Faith:

“Wherefore, God, having created before all things His Messenger, gave to him before aught else the faith which is as it were a likeness of God and of all that God has done and said. And so the faithful by faith sees all things better than one sees with his eyes; because the eyes can err; no they do almost always err; but faith errs never, for it has for foundation God and His word. Believe me that by faith are saved all the elect of God! And it is certain that without faith it is impossible for any one to please God.” – Jesus Christ.

The Faithless Generation:

Jesus said: “Verily I say unto you, the scribes and doctors have made void the law of God with their false prophecies, contrary to the prophecies of the true prophets of God; wherefore God is wrath with the house of Israel and with this faithless generation.” His disciples wept at these words, and said: “Have mercy, O God, have mercy upon the temple and upon the holy city, and give it not into contempt of the nations that they despise not thy holy covenant.” Jesus answered: “So be it, Lord God of our fathers.” (Gospel of Barnabas, Chapter 17).

JESUS DEFINES GOD:

“… God is a good without which there is naught good; God is a being without which there is naught that is; God is a life without which there is naught that liveth; so great that he filleth all and is everywhere. He alone hath no equal. He hath had no beginning, nor will he ever have an end, but to everything hath he given a beginning, and to everything shall he give an end. He hath no father, nor mother; he hath no sons, nor brethren, nor companions. And because God hath no body, therefore he eateth not, sleepeth not, dieth not, walketh not, moveth not, but abideth eternally without human similitude, for that he is incorporeal, uncompounded, immaterial, of the most simple substance. He is so good that he loveth goodness only; he is so just that when he punisheth or pardoneth it cannot be gainsaid.”
(From the Gospel of Barnabas, Chapter 17)

God speaking to Moses:
“I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of Egypt, from the house of bondage. Thou shalt have none other gods before Me. Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them nor serve them …” (Deuteronomy 5:6-9).

God speaking to Isaiah:
“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return. That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear”. (Isaiah 45:22-23).

Paul confirms bowing:
“For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God”. (Romans 14:11).

Exodus 20:3:
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

Exodus 34:14a:
“For thou shalt worship no other god.”

Deuteronomy 6:4:
“Hear O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord.”

I-Corinthians 8:4b:
“There is none other God but one.”

A TRUE FRIEND
According to Jesus:

Physician of Soul:
“The friend is a singular thing that is not easily found, but is easily lost. For the friend will not suffer contradiction against him whom he supremely loves. Beware, be you cautious, and choose not for friend one who loves not him whom you love. Know you what friend means? Friend means nothing but physician of the soul.”
“And so, just as one rarely finds a good physician who knows the sicknesses and understands to apply the medicines thereto, so also are friends rare who know the faults and understand how to guide to good.”

Slayers of Soul:
“But herein is an evil, that there are many who have friends that feign not to see the faults of their friends; others excuse them; others defend them under earthly pretext; and, what is worse, there are friends who invite and aid their friend to err, whose end shall be like to their villainy. Beware that you receive not such men for friends, for that in truth they are enemies and slayers of the soul.”

Love of God:
“Let your friend be such that, even as he wills to correct you, so he may receive correction; and even as he wills that you should leave all things for love of God, even so again it may content him that you forsake him for the service of God.”
“Therefore when you choose you one for friend (for truly he is supremely poor who has no friend at all), see that you consider first, not his fine lineage, not his fine family, not his fine house, not his fine clothing, not his fine person, nor yet his fine words, for you shall be easily deceived.”
“But look how he fears God; how he despises earthly things; how he loves good works; and above all how he hates his own flesh, and so shall you easily find the true friend.”

Key of Paradise:
“But love him as a gift that God has given you, for so shall God adorn (him) with greater favour. Truly I say to you, that he who has found a true friend has found one of the delights of paradise; no, such is the key of paradise.” – (Jesus Christ)

THE MISERABLE ONES
(‘Munafiqeen’):
(Jesus on idolaters, hypocrites & corrupt priests)

Addressing the selfish priests and scribes – the hypocrites and the corrupt preachers – Jesus, the son of Mary, said: “Hypocrites! You do this to fill your purse, and therefore you tithe rue and mint.” Talking about idolatry, Jesus said:

“O miserable ones! For to others you show the most clear way, by which you will not go. You scribes and doctors lay upon the shoulders of others weights of unbearable weight, but you yourselves the while are not willing to move them with one of your fingers. Truly I say to you, that every evil has entered into the world under the pretext of the elders. Tell me, who made idolatry to enter into the world, if not the usage of the elders? For there was a king who exceedingly loved his father, whose name was Baal.”

“Whereupon, when the father was dead, his son for his own consolation, caused to be made an image like to his father, and set it up in the market-place of the city. And he made a decree that every one who approached that statue within a space of fifteen cubits should be safe, and no one any account should do him hurt. Hence the malefactors, by reason of the benefit they received therefrom, began to offer to the statue roses and flowers, and in a short time the offerings were changed into money and food, insomuch that they called it god, to honour it. Which thing from custom was transformed into a law, insomuch that the idol of Baal spread through all the world.”

‘And how much does God lament this by the prophet Isaiah, saying: “Truly this people worships me in vain, for they have annulled my Law given to them by my servant Moses, and follow the traditions of their elders.”

‘Moreover I say to you, that one syllable of the Law of God cannot be broken without the gravest sin. But I do you to wit that it is necessary to observe that which God says by Isaiah the prophet, with these words: “Wash you and be clean, take away your thoughts from my eyes”. ‘Truly I say to you, that all the water of the sea will not wash him who with his heart loves iniquities.’

‘And furthermore I say to you, that no one will make prayer pleasing to God if he be not washed, but will burden his soul with sin like to idolatry. Believe me, in sooth, that if man should make prayer to God as is fitting, he would obtain all that he should ask. Remember Moses the servant of God, who with his prayer scourged Egypt, opened the Red Sea, and there drowned Pharaoh and his host. Remember Joshua, who made the sun stand still; Samuel, who smote with fear the innumerable host of the Philistines; Elijah, who made the fire to rain from heaven; Elisha raised a dead man, and so many other holy prophets, who by prayer obtained all that they asked. But those men truly did not seek their own in their matters, but sought only God and his honour.’
(From the Gospel of Barnabas, Chapters 32 & 38)

JESUS ON PRAYERS:
(From the Gospel of Barnabas)

Prophet Jesus, the son of Mary, told his disciples how to pray to God. Here is an excerpt from the Bible (the Gospel of Barnabas), Chapters 36-37:

"Then Jesus said: “Truly I say to you, that he who makes not prayer, is more wicked than Satan, and shall suffer greater torments.”
‘Even as of such spoke the prophet David: “The fool has said in his heart, there is no God. Therefore are they corrupt and become abominable, without one of them doing good.”
“Make prayer unceasingly, O my disciples, in order that you may receive. For he who seeks finds, and he who knocks to him it is opened, and he who asks receives. And in your prayer do not look to much speaking, for God looks on the heart; as he said through Solomon: “O my servant, give me your heart.”

"Truly I say to you, that very few make true prayer, and therefore Satan has power over them, because God wills not those who honour him with their lips; who in the Temple ask (with) their lips for mercy, and their heart cries out for justice. Even as he says to Isaiah the prophet, saying: “Take away this people that is irksome to me, because with their lips they honour me, but their heart is far from me.” Truly I say to you, that he that goes to make prayer without consideration mocks God."

"… Yet no less does the man who goes to make prayer and prepares not himself. He turns his back to God and his face to Satan, and speaks well of him. For in his heart is the love of iniquity, whereof he has not repented. If one, having injured you, should with his lips say to you, “Forgive me”, and with his hands should strike you a blow, how would you  forgive  him?  Even so shall God have mercy on those who with their lips say: “Lord, have mercy on us”, and with their heart love iniquity and think on fresh sins."

"The disciples wept at the words of Jesus and besought him, saying: “Lord, teach us to make prayer.” Jesus answered: “Consider what you would do if the Roman governor seized you to put you to death, and that same do you when you go to make prayer. And let your words be these:"

“O Lord our God, hallowed be your holy name, your kingdom come in us, your will be done always, and as it is done in heaven so be it done in earth; give us the bread for every day, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive them that sin against us, and suffer us not to fall into temptations, but deliver us from evil, for you are alone our God, to whom pertains glory and honour for ever.”

TEN COMMANDMENTS:
From Exodus 20:1-17 & Deuteronomy 5:4-21:

“I am the Lord your God!
1) You shall have no other gods before me!
2) You shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them.
3) You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
4) Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.
5) Honor your father and your mother.
6) You shall not murder.
7) You shall not commit adultery.
8) You shall not steal.
9) You shall not bear false witness.
10) You shall not covet (your neighbor’s house, his wife, his male/female servant, cattle or property).

The Ten Commandments relate to the matters of fundamental importance in both Judaism and Christianity:
The greatest obligation (to worship only God); the greatest injury to a person (murder); the greatest injury to family bonds (adultery); the greatest injury to commerce and law (bearing false witness); the greatest inter-generational obligation (honor to parents); the greatest obligation to community (truthfulness); the greatest injury to movable property (theft).

NEW TESTAMENT:

During his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus explicitly referenced the prohibitions against murder and adultery. In Matthew 19:16-19, Jesus repeated five of the Ten Commandments, followed by that commandment called "the second" (Matthew 22:34-40) after the first and great commandment:

“And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
-- Matthew 19:16-19.

Jesus said in Matthew 4:10, "You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve." If we worship God in spirit and in truth, we cannot worship anyone or anything else.

We are warned in Colossians 2:18, "Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worshiping angels." We can loose our reward in heaven if we worship someone other than God.

Revelations 21:8 tells us that "idolaters shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

Deuteronomy 10:20:
“Fear the LORD your God and serve him. Hold fast to him and take your oaths in his name.”

Deut. 6:13:
“Fear the LORD your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name.”

Luke 4:8:
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.”

Revelation 22:9:
But he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”

John 4:23-24:
“But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
