‘Lahore Resolution’ Day!
‘Pakistan
Resolution’ Day!
‘Pakistan
Republic’ Day!
‘First Islamic Republic of
The World’ Day!

Creating a Muslim
country was very difficult
and required great
sacrifices but maintaining
and keeping it as
a true Muslim country is a
lot more
difficult. There are internal enemies
(traitors,
hypocrites and corrupt ignorant people)
who are helping
the external enemies of Islam.

In the wake of present wave of Islamophobia, anti-Islam
rhetoric and anti-Muslim terrorist acts, it is imperative that Muslims change
their attitude and adopt some discipline in an organized and coherent way to
protect themselves, their families and their properties from the evil Zionists
and the corrupt racist Evangelists.
Under the current circumstances when the corrupt Zionist
media is fanning hatred, spreading fear and divide among the communities (and certain
special-interest groups arming the extreme-right terrorists), it becomes
necessary to get organized, even armed, and stay vigilant 24/7. The despicable
racist enemy is coward and attacks only unarmed civilians including women and
children. Don’t sit back and count on the pity or sympathy of the white western
world! Get up, take responsibility and defend yourself. That’s the only way to
peace and survival. Military training and one-year service should be declared
mandatory for the Muslim youth (18-25 years) in all Muslim countries. Others
should get training in civil defense and fire-arms use.
23rd of March is a national holiday in Pakistan,
celebrated as Republic Day, not only to commemorate Lahore Resolution but also
the day in 1956 when the country became the first Islamic Republic in the
world.
In 1930, it was Dr. Muhammad Iqbal (a.k.a. Allama Iqbal) who
floated the idea of an independent state for the Muslims of India. The name for
that state ‘Pakistan’
was proposed by Choudhry Rahmat Ali in his ‘Pakistan Declaration’ in 1933.
First Islamic Republic
On 23rd
March, 1956,
Pakistan
became the
‘First Islamic
Republic’
in the World!
From March 22 to March 24, 1940, the All India Muslim League
held its annual session at Minto Park, Lahore.
This session proved to be historical. The session was open to public. It was
transparent and nothing was concealed or kept secret from people.
On the first day of the session, the welcome address was
made by Nawab Sir Shah Nawaz Mamdot. Then Muhammad Ali Jinnah (the
Quaid-e-Azam) narrated the events of the last few months. In an
extempore speech he presented his own solution to the problems of Muslims He said that the problem of India was not of an inter-communal
nature, but manifestly an international one and must be treated as such. To him
the differences between Hindus and Muslims were so great and so sharp that
their union under one central government was full of serious risks. They
belonged to two separate and distinct nations and therefore the only chance
open was to allow them to have separate states under 2-nation theory.
In the words of Quaid-e-Azam, "Hindus and the Muslims
belong to two different religions, philosophies, social customs and literature.
They neither inter-marry nor inter-dine and, indeed, they belong to two
different civilizations that are based mainly on conflicting ideas and
conceptions. Their concepts on life and of life are different. It is quite
clear that Hindus and Muslims derive their inspiration from different sources
of history. They have different epics, different heroes and different episodes.
Very often the hero of one is a foe of the other, and likewise, their victories
and defeats overlap. To yoke together two such nations under a single state,
one as a numerical minority and the other as a majority, must lead to growing
discontent and final destruction of any fabric that may be so built up for the
government of such a state".
He further said, "Mussalmans are a nation
according to any definition of nation. We wish our people to develop to
the fullest spiritual, cultural, economic, social and political life in a way
that we think best and in consonance with our own ideals and according to the
genius of our people".
On the basis of the above mentioned ideas of
the Quaid-e-Azam, A. K. Fazl-ul-Haq, the then Chief Minister of Bengal, moved the historical resolution which has since
come to be known as Lahore Resolution or Pakistan Resolution. March 23rd
commemorates the passage of this resolution.
**********************************
O You Muslim
Leaders!
You cannot
enjoy luxury life at poor
people’s
expense! It’s criminal!
Live simple
life and be a model for
others, if you
are a true Pakistani!
**********************************
The Resolution declared: "No
constitutional plan would be workable or acceptable to the Muslims unless geographical contiguous units are demarcated into
regions which should be so constituted with such territorial
readjustments as may be necessary. That the areas in which the Muslims are
numerically in majority as in the North-Western and Eastern zones of India
should be grouped to constitute independent states in which the constituent
units shall be autonomous and sovereign."
It further reads, "That adequate,
effective and mandatory safeguards shall be specifically provided in the
constitution for minorities in the units and in the regions for the protection
of their religious, cultural, economic, political, administrative and other rights of the minorities, with
their consultation. Arrangements thus should be made for the security of
Muslims where they were in a minority".
Nation-building requires
honesty, sincerity, perseverance
and modesty from leaders
as well as from people
If there is a single most important founding document of
Pakistan, it has to be this Resolution passed at the annual session of the All
India Muslim League at its 1940 meeting (22-24 March) at Minto Park (now called
Iqbal Park), Lahore. It's a wonderful idea for all political parties to
have an open, meaningful, annual session where real decisions are taken in a
transparent and democratic manner! In 1941, this Lahore
(Pakistan)
Resolution became part of the Muslim League constitution and in 1946 it
became the basis of the demand for Pakistan.
To commemorate the event, Minar-e-Pakistan, a 60-meter tall
distinctive monument in the shape of a tower/minaret has been built at the site
in Iqbal Park Lahore, where the resolution was passed.
It’s time for Pakistani nation
to audit the balance sheet
of successes vs failures
and rectify the damage!
Pakistan
was created in the name of Islam, to worship God and practice the code of
conduct prescribed by the Almighty. After 70 years, unfortunately, we are still
far from practicing true Islam and being the true Muslims. In the meantime,
those who benefited from Pakistan,
they became millionaires but failed to do anything positive for the nation, in
return. A lot is still needed to be done, above all, the nation building.
‘Nation-building’ is impossible without ‘character-building’. And
character-building is impossible without guidance. And where do you get the
true guidance from? The Quran is the best source; the best source of guidance,
education, and the best means of character-building!
As the Quran is the best source of guidance, Prophet
Muhammad (s.a.w.) is the best role-model to follow. He showed the world how to
implement the Quran into action in real life under any circumstance. Even our
Lord Creator acknowledged it:
“You have indeed in the Messenger of Allah
an excellent pattern (of conduct).”
(al-Quran 33:21)
