From The Quran
30/30 of Islamic Code
of Conduct
(Part 2/2)
Islam Means Peace
And Good Manners
(M. Javed Naseem)
Islam stands for submission to the Lord and a Muslim is the
one who obeys his Lord (Allah); and spreads peace through good manners and conduct.
Generally, common people don’t have the authentic (Quranic)
knowledge of the Deen (Islam), therefore, they look up to the Mullahs to guide
them and teach them. And a Mullah can teach you anything he likes. Many Mullahs
themselves lack the knowledge of the Quran. They easily find ‘Ahadith’ on
any/every subject and they promote them without verifying their accuracy and
authenticity. They don’t do research to find Quranic verses to support their
argument.
So, the best option is to open the Quran and study
carefully. We’ll definitely get the guidance.
Here’s the second part of the 30/30 of Islamic Code of
Conduct. 30/30 means 30 verses of the Quran and 30 rules of conduct.
16. Kind Treatment
Treat your parents, family members, orphans and the needy
with kindness and help others (in charity)!
“Kind words and the covering of faults (forgiving) are better than charity followed by injury. Allah is free of all wants, and He is Most-Forbearing.” - (al-Quran 2/263)

17. Spend in Charity!

“Those who spend their substance in the cause of Allah, and follow not up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury, for them their reward is with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.” - (al-Quran 2:262)
“The parable of those who spend their substance in the way
of Allah is that of a grain of corn: It grows seven ears, and each ear has a
hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He pleases. And Allah
cares for all and He knows all things.” - (al-Quran 2:261)
18. Don’t Hide The Truth!
Do not confound truth with falsehood; don’t exaggerate;
don’t add or delete; don’t mix up the right with the wrong!
“And cover not Truth with falsehood, nor conceal the Truth when you know (what it is).”
“And cover not Truth with falsehood, nor conceal the Truth when you know (what it is).”
(al-Quran 2:42)
19. Don’t Be A Hypocrite!
Say with your mouth what is in your heart! Do what you say
and say what you do! Your words and actions should support each other, not
contradict!
“… They were that day nearer to Unbelief than to Faith,
saying with their lips what was not in their hearts but Allah has full
knowledge of all they conceal." - (al-Quran 3:167)
“O you who believe! Why say you that which you do not?
Grievously odious is it in the sight of Allah that you say that which you do not.” - (al-Quran 61:2-3)
20. Treat Women Nicely!
“And give the women (on marriage) their dower as a free gift; but if they, of their own good pleasure, remit any part of it to you, take it and enjoy it with right good cheer!” - (al-Quran 4:4)

21. Divorce With Dignity, Responsibility!
“There is no blame on you if you divorce women before consummation or the fixation of their dower; but bestow on them (a suitable gift), the wealthy according to his means, and the poor according to his means; a gift of a reasonable amount is due from those who wish to do the right thing.”
“There is no blame on you if you divorce women before consummation or the fixation of their dower; but bestow on them (a suitable gift), the wealthy according to his means, and the poor according to his means; a gift of a reasonable amount is due from those who wish to do the right thing.”
(al-Quran 2:236)

reasonable (scale). This is a duty on the righteous.” - (al-Quran 241)
22. Don’t Ridicule or Mock Others!
“O you who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others! It may be that the (latter) are better than the (former). Nor let some women laugh at others! It may be that the (latter are better than the (former). Nor defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive) nicknames! Ill-seeming is a name connoting wickedness, (to be used of one) after he has believed. And those who do not desist are (indeed) doing wrong.” - (al-Quran 49:11)
23. Don’t Rob Orphans or The Weak!
“And come not nigh to the orphan's property, except to improve it, until he attain the age of full strength; give measure and weight with (full) justice; no burden do We place on any soul, but that which it can bear. …”
“And come not nigh to the orphan's property, except to improve it, until he attain the age of full strength; give measure and weight with (full) justice; no burden do We place on any soul, but that which it can bear. …”
(al-Quran 6:152)

25. Gossip & Vain Talk
Do not talk, listen or do anything vain; avoid gossip and
derogatory jokes!

“And when they hear vain talk, they turn away from it and say: To us our deeds, and to you yours; peace be to you. We seek not the ignorant." - (al-Quran 28:55)
26. Pardon And Seek Pardon For Misdeeds!
If, unintentionally, any misconduct occurs by you, correct
yourself expeditiously and seek pardon or forgiveness!

“Those who spend (freely), whether in prosperity, or in adversity; who restrain anger, and pardon (all) men; for Allah loves those who do good.” - (al-Quran 3:134)
“And those who, having done something to be ashamed of, or
wronged their own souls, earnestly bring Allah to mind, and ask for forgiveness
for their sins,- and who can forgive sins except Allah?- and are never
obstinate in persisting knowingly in (the wrong) they have done.” - (al-Quran 3:135)
27. Watch Your Measure/Balance!
“Give full measure when ye measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight: that is the most fitting and the most advantageous in the final determination.” - (al-Quran 17:35)

29. Don’t Speak Without Knowledge! Verify!
If you do not have complete knowledge about anything, better
keep your mouth shut. You might think that speaking about something
without full knowledge is a trivial matter. But it might have grave consequences.
Don’t spread rumors or unverified information!
“Behold, you received it on your tongues, and said out of
your mouths things of which you had no knowledge; and you thought it to be a
light matter, while it was most serious in the sight of Allah.”
(al-Quran 24:15)
“And why did you not, when you heard it, say? – ‘It is not right of us to speak of this. Glory to Allah! This is a most serious slander!" - (al-Quran 24:16)
“And why did you not, when you heard it, say? – ‘It is not right of us to speak of this. Glory to Allah! This is a most serious slander!" - (al-Quran 24:16)
30. Lower Your Gaze!
MEN: “Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: And Allah is well acquainted with all that they do.”

WOMEN: “And say to the believing women that
they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not
display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear
thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display
their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers …” - (al-Quran 24:31)
IN NUTSHELL:
“… Worship none but Allah; treat with kindness your parents
and kindred, and orphans and those in need; speak fair to the people; be
steadfast in prayer; and practice regular charity. Then did you turn back,
except a few among you, and you backslide (even now).” - (al-Quran 2:83)
