Plight of Muslims
Starting New Year
In Makkah With Hope.
Will Allah Change
Things For Us?
(M. Javed Naseem)
"Indeed, Allah will not change the condition
of a people until they change (first)
what is in themselves."
(al-Quran 13:11)
For a change, this time for 2026, we (me & wife) decided to start the new year in Makkah, As a matter of fact, I wanted to hit double with one shot, as my wife's birthday happened to be in the last week of December too. Thank God, I achieved the important goal. Now we are back home in Casablanca, north Africe. But was the mission really accomplished? Only halfway, of course. The birthday part went well with Dua and the New Year transition from 2025's last night, was also very satisfying spiritual experience. The real mission, 2026, had really just started and demands a lot of hardwork and patience.
It looks like that the plight of Muslims is not going to change in the near future as none of the Muslim leaders is committed to the mission. Poor Muslims are paying the price by sacrificing their lives, properties and all possions especially in Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Libya. It seems like they are jointly following the same agends that comes from the Devil's government for a smooth transtion to Dajjal's rule. The evil Zionists butchers are killing Muslims all over, destroying their property and the coward Muslim leaders are busy trying to please the Zionist US-EU leaders to save their own asses and protect their crowns and places of power. Sad but terrible!
The Change Always Comes From Within!
Changing-year is a serious warning from God but people don't care about it. They celebrate it with all the sinful acrions that brought them misery, failure and closer to Hell, during the year before. They drink, play music and dance all night and in the morning are like half-dead zombies lying on the floors. With fortune-tellers telling them all kinds of wishful and rosy-looking opportunities waiting for them in the new year, people don't want to hear the truth that hurts.
Changes don't come like that, by just changing a page on the calendar or an Agenda/diary register. They are well planned, well-worked over and constantly watched for progress. Even Allah won't help you if you don't get up and try to help yourself first. He rewards your efforts (no matter how bad) on the basis of your Niyyah (intentions or declarations or decisions) and honesty/sincerity in your effort. It is your internal transformation and Amal (action) that triggers Allah's mercy and blessing.
"For each one, there are successive angels
before and behind, protecting them by Allah’s
command. Indeed, Allah would never change a
people’s state ˹of favour˺ until they change their
own state ˹of faith˺. And if it is Allah’s Will to
torment a people, it can never be averted, nor
can they find a protector other than Him."
(al-Quran13;11)
Change in people's circumstances always comes with the Divine help but what triggers Divine help, is people's good intention, hardwork and honesty/sincerity of purpose. The importance of these elements can never be ignored. It is your action that counts. You can't change the world but you can change yourself and that's how the world starts changing. Your beliefs need to be correct and towards the right direction while your actions on the ground should reflect your beliefs. If you don't achieve this synchronization, you are just practing hypocrisy. And you will be celebrating the next new year with similar slogans and rosy but empty words.
Muslims in general and those in-power in particular, should constantly take themselves to accountability. Without it you cannot produce or prepare future generation. People won't respect and honor corrupt and incompetent rules. They don't care how corrupt or irresponsible they (people) themselves are. They love to blame the government; because the corruption of government is easily visible than the corruption or irresponsibility on the part of public. But Allah gives chances to both sides. He wants them to repent their sinful or corrupt actions, demand pardon for their evil deeds and promise to be righteous in future. Here's Allah's promise:
"Say (O Prophet, that Allah says,),
“O My servants who have exceeded the limits
against their souls! Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy,
for Allah certainly forgives all sins. He is indeed the
All-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
(al-Quran 39:53)
Very comforting words from the Most Merciful and the Gracious. But it is a serious promise that can change one's world. So, at the end of the day, it all comes back to the repentence, seeking forgiveness and then living a life based on righteousness. It is very strange that these problems of corruption or evildoing were always there; the solution of repentence, seeking forgiveness and pursuing righteousness were always there; the promise of Allah the Most Merciful was always there; still the plight and misery continued. Why? Because we deviated and learned new ways to deceive God (actually to decieve ourselves)! Earlier nations feared Allah more than we do. They lived by the righteousness more than we do. Therefore, the real problem is us – we, the people who don't respect Scriptures and respect no codes of conduct/ethics.
We can improve on that too. Righteousness and fear of Allah can shift the balance of our actions towards positive. That means it can change our character, attitude and way of life. Character-building and self-improvement is very important. It can make us a better human being, a better Muslim/believer. But it demands that we take the responsibility and start working hard on the self-improvement element (internal element) than any other moral, cultural, financial, economic or religious or political improvement element (all external elements) of the community.
The change always comes from within!
By the way we both are back in Casablanca (Morocco). We both caught virus in Makkah gathering; and are terribly sick. This virus is worse than Covid. Gives you respiratory problems, fever, body pain, chest-congestion and above all throat infection and you lose your voice. So far, a couple of thousand of Dirhams on medication, bed rest, vitamins, ginger-lemon tea by gallons; but unfortunately not much improvement in 2 weeks. We feel much better during the sunny day but after 6:00pm, we start shivering; and cough and cold comes back till next morning. Allah have mercy on us! For us this is the 'first' change in 2026 and believe me, it is not a good one.... lol.
